Tips for cooking

  • If soup or other liquid food has too much fat, this can be dealt with an ice cube. Put it in the soup and the fat will “gather” around it and you will easily remove it.

  • In order for the roast not to dry, leave a plate of roast over a pot with boiling water or put a pot with hot water in the hot oven where the meat is.
  • In dough for pancakes that is sticking to the pan and is not loose, you can add a glass of beer or egg whites snow with a bit of lemon juice. This will make the pancakes looser and they will not stick.
  • Replace baking powder with baking soda, and if at that moment you do not have baking soda at hand then add four tablespoons of rum or brandy.
  • Potatoes in moussakas will be juicier you previously peel them, cut into slices and leave overnight in the refrigerator, immersed in milk. You can add the same milk later to whipped eggs and pour over moussaka.
